Not yet familiar with RSS?

Thousands of years ago, before humanity learned to smash that like and subscribe button on social media, it was possible to subscribe to new posts from your favorite websites via RSS! It was so mainstream that Apple even supported it directly within Mac OS! However, those days are long gone; mainstream support largely vanished years ago. (RIP Google Reader)

But why let that stop you, dear reader? That’s right, even though Google and Apple don’t care anymore, there are still plenty of RSS reading apps out there! Free yourself from algorithmic "for you" feeds and replace them with something real, and by "real" I mean chronological lists of posts.

Ready to get started?

If you are thusly intrigued and wish to subscribe to my newsletter, you'll need an RSS reader! There are quite a few still around, and which one is the "best" largely depends on which platform you use.

  • Web: Feedly became one of the most popular web-based RSS readers after the death of Google Reader. I think it's still good? Convenient since it works on basically every platform!
  • iOS & MacOS: NetNewsWire is an open source RSS reader for MacOS and iOS. I personally use this one, and highly recommend it!
  • Android: Feeder is an open-source reader that seems pretty solid and seems to come up a lot in recommendations, but I haven't played with it a lot personally.

Once you've gotten one of those set up, just copy and paste the above feed url into your reader, and you'll never miss a post again. Ever.
