New! Version 1.1 released! Now with bugfixes!
It is with great pomposity that I would like to announce the immediate release of 1:40am, a custom stylesheet for the K2 Wordpress theme, and the one used at this site!
The theme features a fluid-width layout, a dark color scheme, and looks vastly different than any other K2 stylesheet out there! The name of the theme comes from the header image, which I took around 1:40am somewhere in Pennsylvania.
Download the “1:40am” K2 style. (tested with K2 RC7, but should work with older versions as well)
To install the theme, install K2 if you don’t have it already, then unzip the file to the folder [your wordpress installation folder]/wp-content/themes/k2/styles/, and select the theme from the drop down menu on your K2 options page. Also, be certain to select “Two Columns”, as K2’s dynamic column resizing interferes with 1:40am’s fluid width main column.
Hi,
Download link not working…
Good catch, it should work now.
Thanks!
Nice theme!
Great looking, loaded it up today and will test it for a week or so… thanks!
Thanks for sharing with community man, it’s a great dark style!
Hi,
I have found your style on the K2 forum and downloaded it. It works fine but I am wondering if it is possible to move the dark right picture more to the center of the body, so that the transparency of the header make sense. In full mode, the picture does not interact with the blog body - so any chance to move it behind the search field for example?
best regards from Vienna,
Peter
Peter,
You can move the picture, though you’ll have to do it manually. Just go into the 140am.css file, and look on line 21 where you see:
background: #000 url(’./images/etown.jpg’) no-repeat scroll top right;
Just change the word “right” to “center”. Hope that helps! (You can also use “left” if that looks better).

P.S. I’ve been to Vienna once. Nice place!
Ok… so I’m trying your style out and I can’t get more than one column, not to mention the captions for photos are completely unreadable without selecting the text due to the text and the caption background being STARK WHITE. Can you please help me make this thing work properly, or is it not set up for captions and multiple columns?
Nice theme, thanks.
Thanks, is the best style for my project
Used your style as a base when my girlfriend wanted a new blog-style with some transparency in the background. You can find it at http://blog.frisorska.se
FYI: Fixed the transparency to work with IE6.
@Jan-Olof Lindqvist
Looks good; I didn’t know about that filter:alpha trick for IE6. I’ve put up version “1.1a” with support for IE6 transparency! The layout might render incorrectly, but at least they get transparancy now!
Great work FreakyT! Was wondering if I can use this beauty with my (3 column) K2 v2.7.1 ? Anybody tried that yet?
